Wonder Woman
     May 2007
This series was my first experiment in using the graphic novel style to
identify problems within society, and to engage these issues with a
wider audience than a fine art piece.
Despite the recent emancipation of women in the workspace, uniform
and work clothing is commonly parodied to undermine the
authoritative role women can now have. Costumes and fancy dress
very often see women becoming a sexual parody of their own
liberation. This flawed display of personal degeneration results in the
working woman becoming a culturally confused and oppressed victim.
Using this comic book style is an attempt to take a light-hearted, yet
informative approach to dealing with this contemporary pathos.
